About Haval
Haval is a brand of crossovers and SUVs that was spun off as a standalone brand from Great Wall Motor in March 2013. The Haval name (originally Hover) first appeared on the Great Wall Haval CUV in April 2005. For nine consecutive years (through 2018), Haval held first place in SUV sales in China, and in January 2019 it produced its 5-millionth vehicle. The headquarters is in Baoding (Hebei Province), where parent company GWM is also based.
In June 2019 Haval launched its own full-cycle plant in the Uzlovaya industrial park (Tula Region) — GWM's largest overseas project, with $500 million in investment. It is the first full-cycle production facility for a Chinese brand in Russia (stamping, welding, painting, assembly, and component production). In 2024 the plant assembled more than 130,000 vehicles, and by the end of 2025 capacity was expanded to 200,000 per year. In 2025 Haval ranked #1 by monetary market size in Russia (11%), surpassing even Lada.
