Chinese hydraulics and pneumatics 2026: Hengli, Weichai, Jufeng, Henglixing — what works on Russian construction equipment
Chinese hydraulic cylinders, pumps, valves and pneumatic components for construction equipment and industrial lines: Hengli Hydraulics, Weichai Hydraulics, Jufeng, Henglixing. FOB prices, OEM ties to XCMG/SANY/LiuGong, logistics through Hunchun.
Hydraulics — the "circulatory system" of the fleet and the most frequent cause of downtime
If the engine is the heart of construction equipment, hydraulics are both circulatory system and nervous system. On a 20–25 ton excavator, hydraulics drive 60% of cycle productivity and 40% of the 5-year repair budget. On loaders — front-end and forklift — even more so: boom force, mast tilt, and brakes often share one circuit. For a plant with presses, injection molders and bending machines, hydraulics are the primary wear node too.
The Russian fleet of Chinese construction equipment (XCMG, SANY, LiuGong, SDLG, Shantui, Shacman, HOWO) grew 3–4x in 2022–2025. The parts market grew accordingly. The problem — half of "Chinese hydraulics" on Russian shelves are either grey-market OEM parts without certification, or counterfeits posing as Hengli/Weichai that fail at 300–500 hours of operation. Understanding the four real manufacturers and their OEM ties is the only way to avoid overpaying and avoid sitting in repair six months later.
Four brands that cover the 2026 market
Hengli Hydraulics — premium segment, OEM for SANY and LiuGong
Jiangsu Hengli Hydraulic (Changzhou, Jiangsu province) — the largest Chinese maker of heavy-duty hydraulics. Shanghai Stock Exchange market cap > 150 billion CNY. Lineup includes hydraulic cylinders for 6–400 ton excavators, axial-piston pumps HP/HPV, flow regulators.
Key OEM ties: SANY (exclusive supplier of boom/arm cylinders for heavy excavators SY330–SY500), LiuGong (base ZL50 config), partially HOWO and Shacman on mining trucks. A 3-cylinder kit (boom + arm + bucket) for a 22-ton excavator — 42,000–75,000 CNY FOB. Axial-piston pump HPV140 — 18,000–32,000 CNY FOB.
Strengths — 12,000–15,000 hour service life between rebuilds, third-generation chrome rod plating (30 µm + nickel underlayer), in-house cylinder casting. Weaknesses — price 35–50% higher than universal Chinese brands; for equipment with under 8,000 hours of remaining life (low-utilization private contractors) the premium is hard to justify.
Weichai Hydraulics — heavy-truck engineering, paired with Weichai engines
Weichai Hydraulics (Weifang, Shandong province) — the hydraulic division of Weichai Group. Flagship for axial-piston pumps on dump trucks, dozers and heavy loaders. The logic is simple: if the machine has a Weichai engine (WD10/WD12/WP13), the factory hydraulics are usually Weichai too — and that is the most common configuration on Russian 8x4 dump trucks and 16+ ton dozers.
Pump A11VO145 (145 cm³, 400 bar) — 25,000–38,000 CNY FOB. 8x4 dump-truck tipping cylinder — 18,000–28,000 CNY FOB. 6-section valve manifold — 12,000–22,000 CNY.
Strengths — direct PTO integration with Weichai engines, proven factory-build compatibility. Weaknesses — narrower lineup than Hengli; for niche tasks (precision hydraulics for industrial presses) Weichai is not always the best fit.
Zhejiang Jufeng — universal mass producer
Jufeng (Ningbo, Zhejiang province) — the largest of the "universal" makers. Broad range: hydraulic cylinders for excavators, loaders and equipment from XCMG/SDLG/Lonking, pneumatic tooling, hydraulic valves.
A 3-cylinder kit for a 22-ton excavator — 18,000–28,000 CNY FOB, 40–45% of Hengli pricing. Axial-piston pump HPV90 — 8,500–14,000 CNY.
Strengths — predictable "mass" quality: works reliably with proper operation; large stock of standard items, broad fitment for any mainstream Chinese machine; low entry price across a wide range. Weaknesses — life below Hengli (typically 6,000–8,000 hours between rebuilds), thinner rod plating; under heavy duty service life drops by 25–35%.
Wuxi Henglixing — economy segment, focused on XCMG/SDLG OEM
Henglixing (Wuxi, Jiangsu province) — specialized supplier of hydraulic cylinders for high-volume XCMG models (XE215, XE245 excavators and ZL50GN loaders) and SDLG (LG933, LG953, LG956). Often positioned as "factory supplier at low price."
A 3-cylinder kit for a 22-ton excavator (XE245 fitment) — 11,000–18,000 CNY FOB, 25–30% of Hengli pricing. Bucket lift cylinder for ZL50 loader — 4,000–7,000 CNY.
Strengths — minimal entry price, good geometric fit with XCMG/SDLG (rod and pin dimensions); suitable for equipment with 2–3 years of remaining life where the Hengli premium does not pay back. Weaknesses — service life 3,000–5,000 hours under normal operation, factory seals counterfeited by Chinese dealers more often than any other brand — factory verification is mandatory.
Scenarios — who buys what and why
Contractor with 5–10 XCMG/SDLG machines, 3,000+ hours/year
Optimal — Zhejiang Jufeng as the main line + Hengli Hydraulics on critical nodes (main-circuit pump, boom cylinders on heavy excavators). Balance: budget × life × liquidity.
Heavy fleet and road construction (15+ units of SANY, LiuGong, heavy dump trucks)
Optimal — Hengli Hydraulics for cylinders on main actuator nodes + Weichai Hydraulics on pumps and valves (if the machines run Weichai engines). Service life pays back the price within the first year of intensive operation.
Private contractor with 1–3 machines, write-off in 2–3 years
Henglixing for cylinders + Jufeng for pumps and valves. Entry price 3x lower than the premium tier, but plan for 1–2 full seal replacements over 2 years.Dealer warehouse (parts consolidation for several clients)
A mix of all four brands following the typical demand matrix — see the case «Consolidated parts · dealer warehouse · Russian Far East»: 40% — Jufeng (mass-market liquidity), 30% — Hengli (premium nodes), 20% — Weichai (powertrain line), 10% — Henglixing (economy on demand).
Duties, VAT and HS-code specifics
Hydraulics fall under several HS codes by component type:
- HS code 8412.21 (linear hydraulic cylinders) — duty 5% under EAEU common tariff
- HS code 8413.50/60 (hydraulic pumps) — duty 0–5% depending on subheading
- HS code 8481.20 (valves and manifolds) — duty 5%
- HS code 8412.31 (pneumatic cylinders) — duty 5%
For consolidated parts shipments (20+ items in one delivery), the key question is correct declaration: a single HS code for the whole shipment (simpler but often understates duty and triggers FCS scrutiny) or split-by-code (correct, but increases broker workload). The standard approach — split into 5–8 subheadings, which clears inspection cleanly without bloating paperwork.
Hydraulic-component certification
Hydraulic and pneumatic components do not require their own TR CU certificate of conformity if supplied as spare parts (not as part of a machine). But two regulations are worth noting:
- TR CU 010/2011 "On the safety of machines and equipment" — applies if components are supplied as part of a machine (new or after major rebuild in Russia).
- TR CU 032/2013 "On the safety of pressurized equipment" — applies to hydraulic systems with working pressure > 0.05 MPa and volume × pressure > 200, which is essentially always true for construction equipment. Requires industrial-safety expert review at the installation site (not at parts import).
For parts import, a TR CU 010 declaration of conformity from the manufacturer is sufficient (Hengli/Weichai/Jufeng issue these without issue) or batch certification through an accredited lab. Full review of the regulations — in the certification section.
Logistics through Hunchun for hydraulic components
Parts are an ideal cargo for the Hunchun corridor: compact, high specific value, no weight/dimension constraints (cylinders up to 3 m long ship as standard cargo).
Rail via Hunchun — Makhalino. Transit from a Jiangsu/Zhejiang plant to a Russian warehouse — 20–28 days. For SKU-rich shipments of 100–500 items this is the optimum on cost and time. Customs clearance in Primorsky Krai takes 2–5 business days. Sea freight via Ningbo — Vladivostok. Justified only for large shipments of 1+ full 20/40-foot container. Transit — 35–45 days, typically critical for parts: a machine in repair costs more per day than logistics savings. The standard dealer-warehouse scheme — 80% rail through Hunchun, 20% air (for urgent critical items where a day of machine downtime exceeds air-freight cost). Corridor analysis — in the «Logistics through Hunchun» section.
What to verify on receipt
- Factory certificates. Hengli, Weichai and Jufeng issue a Factory Quality Certificate per batch. For Henglixing this check is especially important — over 30% of "Henglixing" on the Russian market is counterfeit.
- Markings. The serial number on the cylinder body must be checked against the factory database (online verification with Hengli and Weichai). Missing serial = counterfeit.
- Rod quality. Visually — uniform chrome plating, no streaks; scratches deeper than 0.05 mm are unacceptable.
- Seals. Genuine Hengli/Weichai use NBR/HNBR from Parker, SKF or SIMRIT. Jufeng/Henglixing use Chinese analogs from Tsingtao Rubber; lower life but acceptable for mass-market equipment.
- Test cycle. For expensive items (boom cylinders on heavy excavators, main pumps) demand a bench test report with flow and pressure. Hengli and Weichai supply it without question, Jufeng — for a fee, Henglixing — usually not.
